L'Atelier du Métal. Twenty years of work, one boat.

A job before a boat
Solann is developed and built by Atelier du Métal, a company managed by Olivier Duboscq, based in Orx, in the Landes region, France.
For more than 17 years, Atelier du Métal has been designing and manufacturing custom metal structures, with particular attention paid to precision and durability. In addition to his activity at the Atelier du Métal, Olivier Duboscq is also a regular navigator. The many hours spent at sea directly influenced Solann's design, with attention paid to the essentials: low energy consumption, comfort and robustness. It is this combination between profession and navigation that naturally led to the development of Solann.
With Solann, Atelier du Métal became a shipyard and developed a concept of a travel catamaran, with production deliberately limited to one unit per year.
WHAT SOLANN REPRESENTS
Solann represents a new vision of the travel boat.
A catamaran designed to sail for a long time, in silence, with reduced energy consumption, using a hull specially designed to limit energy needs and favour smooth and comfortable navigation.
Electric propulsion is fully in line with this logic, with motors offering excellent efficiency and controlled energy consumption.
Significant solar production makes it possible to take advantage of the energy offered by the sun, and to reinforce the autonomy of the boat on a daily basis.
In addition, the two generators used for hybrid navigation are selected for their efficiency and redundancy, guaranteeing reliable energy production, while being super soundproof in order to maintain a high level of acoustic comfort on board. Robustness, solidity and reliability are an integral part of the project, with a boat capable of facing varied conditions while maintaining a high level of comfort.
Solann, designed to sail far, simply and sustainably, in 100% electric on a daily basis and in hybrid mode for long crossings.

ONLY ONE BOAT PER YEAR
Solann is being built at a deliberately limited pace: only one unit per year. This choice allows L'Atelier du Métal to devote itself fully to each project, without compromise.
The team works on one boat at a time, with complete control of the entire process. From the design of the plans to the launch, each step is carried out internally: aluminum boilermaking, fittings, system integration, finishes.
This approach guarantees the overall coherence of the boat, without any break between the different phases of its construction.
Throughout the project, the future owner is directly involved. Exchanges are regular, and technical and aesthetic choices are made gradually, as progress progresses.
This collaboration makes it possible to design a boat that is fully defined according to its use and the expectations of its owner, in every detail.
Building only one Solann per year means choosing time, precision and consistency, to achieve a perfectly mastered boat.
Coming to Orx
It is possible to come to the metal workshop to discover Solann under construction, in Orx, in the Landes.
Seeing a boat in production allows you to concretely understand the technical choices, to touch the materials and to realize the work done at each stage.
It is also an opportunity for a future owner to follow the progress of his boat directly on site, and to discuss current choices.
These moments spent on the construction site allow us to fully enter the project, as close as possible to its realization.
